Wimba Pronto is an instant messaging program that allows instructors and students to instantly chat with each other using text, audio, or video. Students and instructors can also share applications on their desktops with each other.

Classmates Tab: Find all the Wimba users who are in your classes (p.5)
Contact Tab: Add the people you want to keep in touch with after the class ends (p.5)
Status Bar: Show your availability – change your status
a. Go “preferences” – “profile”
b. Add your picture, email address, introduction, webpages

a. Click audio call button to make an audio call

e. Please note:
• Pronto video conference only works on one-to-one basis. That is, only one student can see you at a time.
• Pronto allows for multiple users to have audio conference. The instructor and all the students should press “Talk”+"lock". If the instructor press “Talk”+"lock" but the students do not, the instructor cannot hear students’ voices, but students could still hear each other’s voices.
Pronto is good for one-to-one communication. It is especially a good tool for online office hours, where you meet with individual students one by one. But when it comes to online lectures or online activities, Pronto might not be as great as Elluminate.
